Song Lyric Sunday – Sax machine

The theme of SLS this week is to find a song that includes a saxophone being played in it.

Thanks once again to Jim Adams for the prompt.

Michael Samuel Kiwanuka (born 3 May 1987) is a British singer-songwriter and record producer who is signed with Polydor Records. His 2012 debut album, Home Again, went gold in the United Kingdom and his second album, Love And Hate, debuted in 2016 at number one in the UK. He has been nominated for numerous honours, including the Brit Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, BBC Music Awards, and The Grammy Awards. In January 2012, he won the BBC’s; Sound Of 2012 and, in September 2020, he won the Mercury Prize. His latest, self titled album, released in 2019, won another Mercury Prize in 2020. Tell Me A Tale is the lead track from his first album and features baritone sax by Paul Butler. Soprano and tenor sax by Gary Plumley.

All three of Michael’s album releases are well worth a listen.

Tell me a tale that always was, Sing me a song that I’ll always be in, Tell me a story that I can read, Tell me a story that I believe. Paint me a picture that I can see, Give me a touch that I can feel, Turn me around so I can be, Everything I was meant to be. Lord I need loving, Lord I need good, good loving. Lord I need loving, Lord I need good, good loving. Show me some strength that I can use, Give me a sound that I won’t refuse, Tell me story that I can read, Tell me a story that I can believe Tell me a tale that always was, Sing me a song that I’ll always be in, Turn me around so I can be, Everything I was meant to be. Lord I need loving, Lord I need good, good loving. Lord I need loving, Lord I need good, good loving. Lord I need loving, Lord I need good, good loving. Lord I need loving, Lord I need good, good loving.
